Coir Pads

Mattress fiber & Mix fiber is a coarse fiber extracted from the fibrous outer shell of a coconut. The coir fiber is relatively water-proof and is one of few natural fibers resistant to damage by salt water. There are two kinds of coconut fiber based on their colors. Fiber is produced by coconut that is harvested after about ten to twelve months on the plant, containing pliable white fibers. Brown fiber is obtained by harvesting fully mature coconuts.

The fibrous layer or husk of the coconut fruit is separated from the hard shell by driving the fruit down onto a spike to split it. Put the husks into De-husking machines (husk buster) which crush the husk to give the loose fibers.

The stiff, straight, and long strands of fiber are termed bristle fiber or brush fiber. The basic grade of bristle fiber is known as 1 Tie fiber. This is then further hackled and classified into 2 Tie and 3 Tie based on the length of strands and the general condition of fibers.
